A nice little read with interesting ideas. I’ve been reading loooong books these last months, so it’s a good reprieve from the big-plot-storage mindset.

I especially liked how the setting is fully compréhensible as a Fantasy and as a sci-fi setting. The world works as both, the characters become more aware of the other side's point of view, as the plot works well in both ways.

The resolution is satisfying, and I felt that the parallels with Leviathan Wakes were a good send off for the whole series. I felt it was denser than volumes 7 and 8, but it might just be because it wrapped up the series

Big, dense, but now ended.

After his excellent retelling of the October Revolution, I expect great things from this book.

Ma première lecture sur l'ancienne traduction m'avait laissé un goût de vieux, mais là c'est beaucoup plus actuel, j'ai beaucoup mieux accroché.

…mais des lenteurs, une langue à la fois ampoulée et imprécise, et des détails qui me sortaient de la lecture, ce qui fait que j'ai mis longtemps à terminer ce livre.

Je ne sais pas si c'est propre à la collection Imaginaires de Albin Michel, mais les deux livres que j'ai récemment lus de cette collection étaient très verbeux, comme si, pour montrer que la SF peut être prise au sérieux, il faut qu'elle soit dans un style plus compliqué.

I liked his Rosewater trilogy, this should be good!

Circe retrace l’histoire de l’incomprise Circé, amante et antagoniste d’Ulysse. Les mythes grecs donnent toujours le beau rôle aux hommes et aux dieux, mais les femmes, les déesses et les entre-deux (demi-déesses, nymphes, etc…) ont dû attendre des millénaires pour que justice leur soit rendue dans les histoires à leur sujet.

Un très bon livre.

Une avalanche de concepts plus ou moins intéressants qui s’enchaînent, illustrant les évolutions possibles de civilisations, de l'échelle de la tribu à celle de l’univers. Le procédé narratif est plutôt pertinent mais provoque des longueurs, ou des difficultés d’immersion.

La nouvelle traduction française valait vraiment le coup pour Neuromancien, maintenant il faut relire toute la série !

Very interesting end to a compelling question in Fantasy: if gods die at the hand of the people they oppressed, what happens to the reality that they shaped? what happens to their afterlife? what happens to their children?

I suggested to my sister that she read Piranesi, and she really loved it. It may not seem much, but I like it when people like the same things I like.

A fitting conclusion to a fantastic trilogy.
